Overview

  • We are seeking an energetic and highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead construction projects from inception to completion, both residential and commercial. 
  • As a Senior Construction Manager, you will oversee multiple teams, manage schedules, and ensure that all projects meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. Your expertise will help shape innovative infrastructure developments while fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage construction activities from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
  • Develop and monitor construction programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
  • Manage site teams, subcontractors, labour, plant, materials and resources.
  • Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and construction methodologies.
  • Provide strong leadership on health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor progress, productivity, quality and costs, taking corrective action where required.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Planning, Commercial, Design, Engineering, Procurement and HSEQ teams.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and resolve construction, technical and interface issues.
  • Identify project risks, delays and constraints and implement appropriate mitigation and recovery measures.
  • Participate in client, consultant and project progress meetings and provide clear progress updates.
  • Support the management of variations, commercial issues and contractual matters.
  • Lead snagging, testing, completion and project handover activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ relevant construction experience, with significant experience in a senior site/construction management role.
  • Proven experience delivering major building, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction practices, H&S requirements and site management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction programmes, project controls and commercial matters.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant construction/project management software.
